    Taiz – July 28, 2025
SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties, in cooperation with the Office of Endowments and Guidance in Taiz Governorate, concluded a specialized training workshop aimed at empowering religious preachers and advisors. The program focused on concepts of community reconciliation, restorative justice, and transitional justice.

The three-day workshop was implemented as part of the “Minbar Al-Adalah” (Justice Platform) initiative, which is a component of the SPARK project—Supporting Peace in Yemen through Accountability, Reconciliation, and Knowledge Sharing—funded by the DT Institute.

The workshop brought together 20 religious preachers and advisors from eight districts across Taiz Governorate. Participants received targeted training designed to strengthen their understanding of transitional justice, promote a culture of peace and social coexistence, and activate their role in delivering faith-based messages that contribute to community peacebuilding and restorative justice.

At the closing ceremony, Eng. Abu Bakr Abdulrazzaq, Director General of the Office of Endowments and Guidance in Taiz, expressed his appreciation for SAM’s efforts, commending the initiative and affirming the office’s commitment to collaborating with all entities working to serve the community. He stated:
The Office of Endowments is open to all purposeful initiatives that strive to raise awareness and serve the people of Taiz.

The workshop concluded with a set of outcomes, including messages addressed to local and international authorities as well as civil society organizations. These messages called for greater support for raising awareness on transitional justice, rejecting violence, and advancing national reconciliation efforts toward achieving comprehensive transitional justice in Yemen. The final statement also included a matrix of actionable recommendations and practical proposals at both the local and national levels.
