SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties launched on Saturday a specialized training program aimed at strengthening the capacities of religious preachers and guides in Taiz Governorate. The initiative seeks to promote community reconciliation and foster the principles of restorative and transitional justice.
The program is organized under the Minbar Al-Adalah (Pulpit of Justice) initiative, implemented as part of the SPARK – Supporting Peace in Yemen through Accountability, Reconciliation, and Knowledge Sharing project, funded by the DT Institute and coordinated with the Office of Endowments and Guidance in Taiz.
The training, which runs through July 28, brings together preachers and religious guides from across the governorate. Participants receive both theoretical and practical training designed to empower them to play an active role in community awareness, mediate local conflicts, and contribute to developing a religious discourse that supports justice and peace.
SAM emphasized that engaging religious leaders in restorative justice programs is a key pillar for achieving stability, particularly in post-conflict communities, noting that such initiatives strengthen a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and social cohesion.
