The Minister of Information in Sana'a government, Daif Allah al-Shami, called for participating in a campaign calling for banning Facebook and YouTube platforms, in response to closing channels and pages affiliated with the Houthis, by The mentioned platforms.
He added that the people are calling on the Ministry of Telecommunications to deal responsibly with the "racist and selective" actions of YouTube and Facebook, and to review their work license in Yemen.
Al-Shami considered that the YouTube administration's closure of the "national media" channels comes in light of the systematic hostility to all free voice that works to reveal facts, and tries to silence it, adding: The "Yemeni Ministry of Telecommunications" must stand with its people to deter anyone who tries to silence them, according to him.
It is noteworthy that the YouTube administration blocked 21 channels affiliated with the Houthis, during the past month, in addition to closing four channels, during this August, for violating the publishing policy, according to the platform.
